Their lineage is further distinguished by the rulership of the Goddess of Beauty and Harmony, a primordial figure who embodies the origins of Water and Ice affinities—powers that are woven into the very essence of her people.

Characteristics

In their appearance, Selkie share a striking resemblance to Fairies, which can sometimes make them difficult to distinguish at a glance. However, several unique features set them apart: their bodies and faces are adorned with intricate markings, often shimmering in hues that reflect their aquatic heritage. Their ears, delicately pointed and elfin, hint at their fae origin. Scattered across their skin are patches of fish-like scales, glistening subtly in the light. Most notably, when immersed in water, their lower bodies transform entirely into the elegant tail of a mermaid, allowing them to swim with exceptional grace and speed.

Another defining trait of the Selkie is their exuberant and lively nature. They are renowned for their love of music, especially singing, which they perform with enchanting voices that can mesmerise any listener. Playfulness is at the heart of their character; Selkies are constantly active, brimming with energy, and rarely content to remain still. Their days are filled with joyous activity, social interactions, and spontaneous bursts of song, making them beloved among both their own kind and those from other races.

When it comes to magical affinities, Selkie are intrinsically linked to the elements of Water and Ice. These are the only natural affinities they can possess, granting them abilities related to both the fluidity of water and the chill of ice.
